Summary:

Whether it’s Olympic Broadcasting Services, NBC, or CTV, the job of sharing the excitement of 2010 with the world is large and complex. In addition, with some 10,000 media expected to attend our Games, their shopping list of local services is a long one. Join the broadcasters for a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes for them and us to televise the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to the world.

In addition to rights fee, NBC, being an international broadcaster, will infuse an additional US $40 million into B.C.’s economy. Arriving months ahead of the Games, NBC will contract with dozens of local vendors for goods and services related to “all facets of broadcast and operational footprint”, and this includes hiring more than 1,000 Canadian citizens to perform a broad range of operational tasks. These major broadcasting companies will be looking to procure equipment, staff and warehouse space leading up to and during 2010.
