These actions solidify Teck’s relationship with communities, while also highlighting its role as a positive corporate citizen.

BC is home to several global mining and resource corporations, whose notoriety includes world-leading sustainable mining innovations. Teck’s ‘Urban Ore’ program adapted its BC smelting operations in the southeast corner of the province near Trail to recycle and recover the metals from old electronic equipment destined for the landfill.

Teck provided the copper sheeting for the counter of the hosting station. The copper and jade hosting station is a highlight feature of the hosting space. Following a design style established at the BC Canada Pavilion at the Beijing 2008 Summer Games, the translucent properties of the deep green jade and the rustic warmth of the copper countertop create a stunning and appealing contrast.
